My name is Mark Reposar. I am a native islander kid born in Olongapo City Philippines. My family has always been poor growing up but we managed to survive. Ever heard of the Mt. Pinatubo volcano eruption? Click on the link above. I was there to experience its full force.
I am very fortunate to have a Mother that had the will, desire, and courage to make a change and found a way to make the shores of The United States. Today, I am the only person in my whole family tree that was able to graduate college.
I am hopeful that many more from my family can graduate college so fingers crossed. I have three degrees total: Business degree, Aerospace degree, and a second degree black belt in Taekwondo. I know the last one is a non-educational degree but I learned many lessons in my 13 years or training.
I currently serve to protect our great nation as an Airman in the United States Air Force. Growing up, I have noticed that money and finance in general has been the center of everything. It always seems to pop up whether it’s a situation with my family in the Philippines or issues with the family here in the states. Money is worshipped on television 24/7 and some even throw it in the sky like Lebron James’ chalk toss.
Money has this great illusion that makes you think that it can make you happy. It doesn’t. What money can give you is freedom. Freedom to spend more time with the kids, freedom to travel the world, and freedom to do something you’re passionate about. My goal for this site is to educate and help my readers understand money, financial management, and become financially independent.
I will also give a financial perspective from an active duty military member’s point of view since that’s what I am currently doing in my life right now. My goal is to be financially independent by the end of my Air Force career. I’m married to my beautiful wife Caitlin and have an adorable puppy name Hilo. Mahalo for stopping by.
