My top 10 accessories I have purchased for my pup Nico since he was a pup from 12 lbs, to now a 95 lbs “LabraBeast Retriever.”
- Dog Seatbelt: This is a safety issue for Nico and me. When I didn’t have a seatbelt for him, he used to jump all over the place and sometimes even my lap! It’s worse than texting and driving. With the seatbelt, not only does he stay secured, it also keeps driving distractions to a minimum.
- Harness: Tag team partner of the seatbelt. A nice harness has a latch in the front and the back and balances the pressure in case of an accident.
- Long Leash: We’re talking about a 50 foot leash and not the regular 6 footer. What’s great about having a long leash is that Nico can have more freedom while training him for the “come here” command or playing fetch without the need for a dog park.
- Doggy Backpack: This gives Nico a job when we go hiking. It’s not a pretend job either. He really does have to carry the water, cell phone, and poop bags. Ever had to carry a bag of poop up and down the mountain? Not very fun.
- Gorilla Supply 1000 Green Dog Pet Poop Bags: Speaking of poop, please be a good owner and have plenty of these at all times. I see too many owners not pick up their dogs crap and every time I CATCH em, they get a mouthful from me.
- Musher’s Secret Pet Paw Protection Wax: Protect your dog’s feet in the summer or winter without having to buy those creepy dog boots.
- Water spray: It gets very hot in Arizona so having a water spray is a must to keep the “beast” cool.
- Dog brush: Brushing Nico everyday keeps the shedding to a minimum and makes his coat nice and shiny.
- Toothbrush: I brush Nico’s teeth EVERYDAY. No skipping…ever. Do you ever skip? If you do, that’s just nasty! My mom just had her 2 Chihuahuas teeth cleaned professionally. Cost: $500…each
- Petrodex Enzymatic Toothpaste: DO NOT use human toothpaste. Dogs don’t spit and we don’t want to take the risk of poisoning our dogs. Use this toothpaste made specifically for dogs. Seriously, Nico gets compliments.
